It is highly recommended that students applying to universities that either require or accept the ACT research the test score requirements of the institutions they are interested in. It is rare for institutions to mention a minimum test score requirement explicitly, but you can gauge their expectations by looking at the scores of their accepted students, which are publicly accessible. The ACT was taken by around 84% of the most recent first-year cohort at the University of Wisconsin's main campus in Madison. Approximately 75% of the incoming first-year students at UW-Madison have impressive composite ACT scores of 27 or higher. Even more remarkable, over 50% of these students have achieved ACT composite scores of 30 or above. To put it into perspective, a combined score of 27 places them in the top 86th percentile of all test-takers, while a score of 30 catapults them to the elite 94th percentile. These statistics genuinely highlight these UW-Madison freshmen's academic excellence and exceptional abilities. According to UW-Madison, an impressive 97% of the most recent batch of first-year students achieved a minimum score of 24 on the ACT. Although the university doesn't officially label it as a requirement, this score holds significant importance.
